Fun happenings at State
Here are our young ladies enjoying themselves. It is such a pleasure seeing the new generation growing, loving each other, loving life and loving their passion. I always feel like such a proud mom and regard it as such an honor when “the girls hang out” in our area. They are such a pleasure and I love them all so much.

Another fun event that was new in ’08 was the artisan cheese, soap and lotions competition that our superintendent added to the State Fair entries to promote the dairy goat. Thank you Eva and Wanda! They did a great job organizing, promoting and setting up the panel of judges for the entries. It was great fun and a totally new experience for those of us exhibitors with dairy goats. I entered 3 cheeses in 3 categories and pulled two 1st places and a second. No bragging rights here though since I’m a total amateur and only entered our family home made cheeses that our family enjoys for the fun of it. I enjoyed the competition and will enter again if the entries are offered again. The crowning pleasure was that those of us who entered, could sample the final judging products ourselves.
